Devin Brucie

Devin Carrick Brucie, age 31, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY.

Devin was born on June 12, 1990, to Robert and Deborah Beck Brucie in Corning, NY. He was a graduate of East High School and a recent Magna Cum Laude graduate of Alfred University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Childhood Education. Devin was about to begin his career as a teacher and was working as a building substitute teacher with the Corning-Painted Post School District.

To know Devin was to love Devin. He could light up a room like no other with his smile and engaging personality. His favorite pastimes included playing basketball, cheering for Duke, playing a round of golf with friends, and fishing the lakes and streams with his dad and brother. Devin was happiest when in the presence of beloved family and friends, and he will be missed by all.

He is survived by his parents; his beloved brother, Sean Brucie; maternal grandparents, Donald and Mary Beck of Horseheads, NY; and a very special cousin, Arynn Brucie of Wilmington, DE. Devin was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Jim Brucie, Kathleen Carrick Brucie, and step-grandmother, Rose Lentricchia Brucie. Devin was fortunate to be part of a large and loving, extended family which included many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 from Noon to 4:00 PM.
