Daniel A. Parrillo, age 85, of Painted Post, NY died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.\n\n\nDan was born on December 13, 1927 in Susquehanna, PA to Joseph and Angelamarie (Cillo) Parrillo. He married Martha Blodgett at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Corning in 1953 and was preceded in death by her in 1997. He served his country in the Navy from 1945 to 1946. He worked on the railroad and then went to work for Corning Glass Works where he retired as a store room clerk. He was a member of the American Legion in Corning. He loved to play and watch baseball, and had played on a farm team. Dan went to OTB every day to play the horses.\n\n\nHe is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane (Douglas) Sutton of Corning; four sons: Daniel (Teri Knapp) Parrillo, Sr. of Addison, Jerry (Nancy) Parrillo of Corning, Joseph Parrillo of Corning, and Jack Parrillo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his companion, Dorthy Watson of Painted Post; and many nieces and nephews.\n\n\nDan was predeceased by his son, Tom Parrillo; five brothers: Louie, John, Nicholas, Pat, and Alphonse Parrillo; and by four sisters: Mary, Elizabeth, Ema, and Lucy.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 30th from 3 until 6 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow calling hours at 6:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning.\n\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Corning Salvation Army, 32 Denison Parkway East, Corning, NY 14830.
