Charles A. Kosty, age 85, of Corning, NY, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Schuyler Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls, NY. \n\n\nCharlie was born on January 26, 1929 in Corning to Charles and Mary (Jubera) Kosty. His mother passed away at an early age, and was raised by his father Charles and step mother Catherine (Benza) Kosty. He was a graduate of St. Patrick's and Corning Free Academy. He married Josephine Seibel in 1987 and was preceded in death by her in 2009. \n\n\nHe served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a postal carrier for the Corning Post Office for many years. Charlie enjoyed playing softball and was an avid Yankee and Giants fan. He was a former member of the Corning Elks and Corning American Legion. He attended St. Patrick's Church. \n\n\nCharlie is survived by two brothers, Donald (Jean) Kosty of Bradford and Robert (Marianne) Kosty of Horseheads; a step son, Fred Siebel of New Mexico; several nieces and nephews.\n\n\n\nFamily and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, March 14th at St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning at 2:00 PM\n\n\nDonations may be made in memory of Charlie to a charity of one's choice. \n\n\nCharlie's family has entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
