Catherine "Kitty" Rajnik

Catherine “Kitty” Rajnik, age 76, of Corning, NY died on October 31, 2022 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post, NY.

Kitty was born in New Rochelle, NY on April 22, 1946 to Clarence T. and Mary Adele Ledin. She was a member of the first graduating class of Corning East High School in 1964. Kitty attended the Rochester Business Institute prior to taking a secretarial position at Corning Glass Works (Corning, Inc.). She met her future husband, Lawrence “Larry” Rajnik, in a company bowling league, and the two were married on May 31, 1969. After taking a number of years off to raise their two children, she accepted a part-time office position at the First Congregational United Church of Christ where she worked until she retired.

Kitty was active in the Corning Hospital Auxiliary, a member of Corning Hospital Chapter D, and a volunteer at the hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling and socializing with her Bunco group.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Karen (Glenn) Duffard of Atlanta, GA and Laura (Matthew) Panzarella of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Paige Duffard, Callan Panzarella and Ryan Panzarella; brother, Larry (Peggy) Ledin of Hagerstown, MD; sister, Ann (David) Lipstein of Ocean View, DE; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 7th at 2:30 PM at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning followed by entombment in St. Mary's Mausoleum in South Corning.

Memorial donations may be made in Catherine's name to the American Diabetes Association.
