Carol R. Turner, age 81, of Painted Post, NY died Monday, October 18, 2021 at Guthrie Corning Hospital.\n\nCarol was born on December 11, 1939 in Corning to George and Ruby (Sturdevant) Rigby Sr. She graduated from Corning Free Academy in 1957. Carol was preceded in death by her husbands: Erwin Turner (1995) and Mahlon Bliss (1985), and ex-husband, William Lowe (1994).\n\nCarol worked for Corning Incorporated where she held several positions until her retirement in 1996. Carol was a member of the Eastern Star, Women of the Moose, Red Hat Society, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and the Corning Senior Center. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and playing poker with her Friday night poker group. Carol enjoyed baking and making wedding cakes for friends and family. She was part of the Babcock Hollow Campground community for over 20 years.\n\nShe is survived by her daughter, Heidi Collins of Hatboro, PA; son, Matthew Lowe of Painted Post; sisters, Viola Albert and Francis Driscoll; brother, George Rigby Jr.; stepsons, Hugh (Chris) Turner and Kent Turner; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carol was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Austin Collins and a sister, Helen (Frank) Tostanoski.\n\nCalling hours will be held on Thursday, October 21st from 3 - 5 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Len Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
