Anne B. Ferratella

Anne B. Ferratella passed away on August 1, 2024 at Corning Hospital in Corning, NY.

Anne was born on September 25, 1922, in Fairport, NY to Patsy and Rose (Corradera) Benfonte. Anne married the love of her life, Philip Ferratella in Fairport, NY on September 14, 1947 and was preceded in death by him on December 18, 2003.

Known for her compassionate and loving nature, Anne was a beacon of support for all who had the privilege of knowing her. A creative spirit, she channeled her artistic prowess into a successful career as a photo oil painter, working with esteemed studios such as Rogers, Gill, Holland, and Faulisi among others.

Anne was a woman of many passions. She found joy in painting, roller skating, bowling, and betting on horse racing. An avid fan of card games, she was a known participant in Euchre tournaments at the Elks. Anne was also known as the "Cookie Lady" at the cafeterias at Carder, CFA, and East High schools, a moniker that she wore proudly. A fervent Bills fan, Anne would never miss a game, her enthusiasm for the team as vivid as her artwork. Above all, what mattered most to Anne was her family and the meticulous detail she put into her artwork, a testament to her love for her craft and her kin.

Anne is survived by her sons, Patrick Ferratella and Joseph (Eloise Gerecitano) Ferratella; grandchildren, Danielle (Torre) Kasemeyer, Daniel, and Joey (Jessica); Joanie (mother of Dan and Joey); great-grandchildren, Braeden, Alec, Jaiden, Lilliana, and Philip; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anne was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Ferratella; grandson, Chucky; and siblings: Mary, Jenny, Patrick, Josephine, and Antoinette. Her love, wisdom, and fortitude will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 3 - 6 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. 216 East 1st Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning on Thursday, August 8th at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
