Angela E. Sopp Obituary (1927 - 2015)

Angela (Angie) E. Sopp, age 87, of Painted Post, NY died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. Angie was born on August 5, 1927 in Erie, PA to Stephen and Julia (Galgan) Abramczyk. She married Howard Sopp in 1967 and was predeceased by him in 2006. She worked for Valley Care Nursing Home in Sewickley, PA as an Accounts payable clerk for many years. Following her husband's death, Angie moved to Painted Post to be closer to her son and his family. She was a member of All Saints Parish and attended church regularly. Angie loved sewing and crafts. She was a member of the Home Bureau of Campbell. Angie also volunteered her time to the Painted Post Food Pantry. She is survived by her son Christian (Julie) Sopp of Painted Post; grandchildren, Brendan and Megan Sopp; three brothers, Peter (Ruth) Abramczyk of Long Island, NY, Michael Abramczyk of Erie, PA, and Stanley (Olga) Pakela of Erie, PA; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Immaculate Heart Of Mary Church in Painted Post with Father John Forni officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Wexford, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Painted Post Food Pantry, 201 North Hamilton Street, Painted Post, NY 14870 or All Saints Academy, 158 State Street, Corning, NY 14830. Angela's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
