Adeline Jeanne Brown

Adeline Jeanne Brown, affectionately known as Jeanne, was born on July 28, 1946, in Corning, New York. She passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanne was a talented beautician, operating her own hair salon and bringing joy to many with her skills. She was dedicated not only to her profession but also to her hobbies, which included sewing, crocheting, baking, gardening, and canning. Jeanne’s resilience was evident in her ability to master crossword puzzles and her love for family get-togethers, gator rides, and sitting on her deck enjoying a cup of coffee.

A faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Coopers Plains, Jeanne’s faith was evident in her life. She was also a resident of Painted Post, New York. Jeanne was a woman who understood the value of family; it was what mattered most to her. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who deeply cherished her family.

Adeline is survived by her children, Daniel (Julie) McILwain, R.Michael (Deneen) McILwain, and Patricia (John) Machuga; her sister, Joan (Charlie) Paul; her brother, Robert (Leslie) Brown; and her son-in-law, Dave Morford. Jeanne was a proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 19 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret (Dave) Morford; her parents, Robert and Adeline Brown; and her great-grandson, Austin Jr.

Jeanne’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her talent, dedication, and resilience will forever be an inspiration to her family and friends. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, December 1st from 10-12 pm at Haughey Funeral Home Inc, 216 E. First Street., Corning, NY, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm. Burial will be held in Coopers Plains Cemetery.
